There’s a Ron Kenoly chorus from the 90’s written by Becky Fender that needs to be revived. It asks a question and gives the answer four times.
“Whose report will you believe?
“We shall believe the report of the Lord.” (4x)
Then the chorus fleshes the answer out:
“His report says I am healed.
“His report says I am filled.
“His report says I am free.
“His reports says victory.”
That series is repeated. Then three more questions and answers are given and repeated.
“Are you healed? Yes.
“Are you filled? Yes.
“Have you got the victory? Yes.” (2x)
If I could make one change to Becky Fender’s lyrics, it would be like this: Last line --
“Have you got the victory? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.” And maybe for good measure, I’d throw in an extra yes. But what do I know? I’m not a lyricist.
So, whose report are you going to believe? If you’re feeling down, depressed, discouraged, dismayed, may I suggest a sing-along with Ron Kenoly? And maybe open the Book and dig deep? The pages are filled with hope and encouragement.
