Three Times When We Need Jesus

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

There are only three times in life when we need Jesus: yesterday, tomorrow, and today.

For the past, He offers mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from guilt.

For the future, He offers faith, hope, and everlasting love.

And for today, He offers strength, courage, comfort, direction, knowledge, understanding, healing, deliverance, protection, unity, love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Through His death and resurrection, He has opened the way to be reconciled to God.

Jesus comes to us through supernatural revelation. He comes to us through His Spirit, through a sense of His Presence, through the words of others, through the living Word. Sometimes He speaks to our understanding in a still, small voice.

He comes to some through dreams and flashes of understanding. Some look at Him as fiction, a good story, a good man, perhaps a prophet. Some consider Him Bread of Life, Living Water, Life eternal, a promise fulfilled, Light of the world, Best Friend, Prince of Peace and King of Kings, Peace Himself, the living Word, the living Son of God.

When we stand at the graveside of a loved one, we need Jesus. When others stand at our grave, they will need Jesus, too. For the believer, he is our rock, our strength, our comfort, our hope, a very present help in time of trouble. He is the giver of joy and the lifter of our heads. Scripture says He is sitting at the right hand of God. He lives to intercede for us. As our great High Priest, He is able to save completely those who come to God through him (from Hebrews 7:25)

On this particular Resurrection Day, I wish you Jesus. I ask Him to reveal Himself to each of us in a new way. He is reason to rejoice and be glad…in spite of circumstance. Happy Easter. Happy Resurrection Day. Much love!
